CRONUTS!! Cronut in Singapore and Malaysia!

1

What is a Cronut™?

Described by many as a half croissant, half doughnut — this pastry hybrid by Chef Dominique Ansel is taking the world by storm. After its launch on May 10, 2013, Cronut fans spanned the world from Berlin to Singapore, making it the most viral dessert item to date.

The introduction of the Cronut™ has spawned many copycats all around the world. To consumers who are not able to try the original cronut from New York City, fret not – your local bakeries may be trying to re-create the same thing! If you stay in Singapore or Malaysia, you’re in luck as we are telling you where to find them in your very own hometowns!

In Singapore, we have:

The Crodo by Da Paolo Gastronomia , may appear like a donut, is made from croissant dough which is deep-fried then cream filled and finished with a sweet glaze. Donut fans can now enjoy a donut with the luscious texture of a croissant while Croissant lovers can enjoy the same light fluffy delicate layers of the Croissant paired adventurously with the sweet fried sugared delights of the Donut.

In Malaysia:

These babies will be available from the 3rd to 30th July at Delectable by Su (LG, The Gardens Mall). Priced at RM10 each, there are currently three flavours available: the Caramel Praline, Coconut Kaya and Lemon Strawberry. Baked goods and locally inspired flavours, yum!

The Big Group are now offering their ‘KLonuts’ at Dessert Storm, their latest pop-up dessert bar in Ben’s Independent Grocer (Publika). There are four flavours: signature Peanut Butter and Caramel, Lemon Curd and Meringue, Cheesecake and Chocolate. These flaky treats will be available from Tuesdays to Sundays, between 4pm – 10pm!
